Who can be a live-in carer?

What does Corinium Care look for in a live-in carer?

Becoming a live-in carer with Corinium Care requires one major attribute: a compassionate and caring nature.

You don’t need a string of qualifications. What we look for most is common sense, integrity and reliability – and a sense of humour.

Corinium Care carers come from all walks of life and have had very different life experiences. Many come from Zimbabwe and South Africa as well as the UK.

What they all have in common, however, is patience and understanding, and a desire to make their client feel safe and comfortable in their own home.

How the selection process works

All those looking for a carer job through Corinium Care go through a detailed selection process and must take part in our free one-week training scheme in Gloucestershire.

During that training period, our carers are closely assessed for their ability to work in such a sensitive role. Corinium’s Care Managers are able to get to know each new arrival and to build an understanding of their particular strengths.

We seek to ensure that our carers have the personality and commitment essential to the wellbeing of our clients.

We adopt an equal opportunities selection policy.
