Recoginition for providing the highest possible level of care
Corinium Care is thrilled to have received an acknowledgement of thanks in Jilly Cooper’s latest novel Mount!
Cooper writes:
“I am in turn colossally indebted to the many marvellous carers who lived in and looked after my husband Leo in his last years, treated us both with such kindness and cheerfully endured the long hours. A large majority were supplied by wonderful local agency Corinium Care. Many came from Zimbabwe or South Africa and provided me with crucial detail, inspiration, touching copy for my story and became huge friends.”
Jilly makes a point of thanking the carers by name that had supported her and her husband Leo, who suffered from Parkinson’s disease. Many became close friends to the couple and provided inspiration for the novel’s Zimbabwean character Gala, a widow who moves to Penscombe to care for Rupert’s father.
Katharine Partridge, Head of Operations for Corinium Care, commented “We were honoured to have received commendation from Jilly Cooper and in such a public way. The dedication, care and support of our staff is second to none and we are enormously proud of them all”
